Previously-mentioned Greplin is a great, if somewhat unheralded service that allows you to search through your Gmail accounts, Facebook feed, Tweets, Dropbox, Google Calendar, and more from a single search box. Think Google Desktop for online services.

It was always cool, but not something I relied on. That changed recently with the release of an iPhone app that promises to access your entire digital life from a pocket-sized device. It’s amazing.

Once you add your various web services, a simple keyword search brings up results from all of them within moments. It’s insanely fast for the amount of data it has to sort through. All results open within the app, so you can quickly jump back to search results and find more of what you’re looking for.

So imagine you couldn’t remember where your group project was meeting, and you couldn’t recall if they told you in an email or a Facebook message. Or what if you had to recall an old email that was no longer stored on your phone? With Greplin, it doesn’t matter.

The app itself is free, and a free account allows you to add Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Gcal, Google Docs, and a few others. An absurd amount of other services, including the Google Apps accounts that many colleges are adopting, are available for $4.99/month or $49.99/year.
