Apart from social networking, watching flash videos, and reading blogs, the web also features great websites which perform some very useful services for the fantastic price of free! Here are three of the most useful websites I’ve found, and I hope you like them too.

1. YouTubemp3 – Found a great track on YouTube and want to save it on your mobile device or computer? Use this website to turn any YouTube video into a downloadable .mp3 file you can take with you anywhere! Clean and simple, this website does exactly what it advertises with little fuss or muss.

2. Zamzar – Zamzar is a great and free online file conversion website. Want to take that .mp3 you just got from YouTubemp3 and turn it to .flac? No problem! Zamzar can handle pretty much any file format you throw at it, with options for a wide variety of image, document, audio, and video formats. Honestly, you will be shocked by how extensive the list of formats is. The only problem is there’s a 100 MB file limit for free users, but that shouldn’t matter for a majority of readers’ files (likely image and document files).

3. Mailinator – Do you hate giving away your primary email address when signing up for something you’ll only use once? Instead of getting your inbox inundated with spam, use an @mailinator email address (for example, hackcollege@mailinator.com) that will eat up all the junk you throw at it. Keep in mind that any Mailinator email address you use is completely open to the public, so there’s no privacy whatsoever. Use it just for junk mail and not for anything important!

Try out all three services, and let us know what you think in the comments! Are there better alternatives out there?
