Thanks to capacitive touchscreens, which use the conductive power of the human body to activate, winter becomes a tough time to use a smartphone. But with a little old fashion hacking, we’ll solve that problem.

We’re going to turn your favorite pair of gloves into static generating smartphone gloves using the power of conductive thread.

You’ll need the following:

  • Gloves
  • A Sewing Needle (preferably one with a large eye)
  • Conductive Thread$5 for sample, $15 for 60 feet. Also found at select Walmart locations.
  • Scissors
  • Smartphone (or other touchscreen device)

Once you’ve got your supplies ready, work your way through the guide below. And if you have any extra thread, be a pal and hand it out to your friends.
