U.S. News & World Report has released its annual lists of best graduate schools featuring a multitude of rankings in various fields to be used for the 2014-2015 school year.

Maintained for 20 years now, the rankings provide graduate degree seekers with a peek into the top schools in business, education, engineering, law, and medicine.

“Expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research, and students” are the two things that influence rankings. This data comes from administrators at 1,250 programs and over 13,000 academics and other professionals surveyed from the fall of 2012 to early 2013.

A standardized value is given to each indicator which shows how important U.S. News & World Report feels a particular institution is in each field. The highest-scoring school is given a score of 100 and all other schools are then ranked based upon a percentage of the highest-scoring school.
