General Information About Global Business Institute School Mission Global Business Institute, a not-for-profit educational institution, was established in Far Rockaway and Harlem to offer educational opportunity to the inner city student. Global Business Institute serves substantial numbers of ATB students and provides job training to low-income individuals. Therefore, to provide the best opportunity for success, Global has developed objectives that will addresses the many transitional problems facing its students. Objectives # Carefully evaluate every student who applies to Global, and accept for admission only those determined to have the ability to benefit from the training. # Create an educational environment of cooperation and communication among students, faculty, and administrative support staff that is essential to successful outcomes. # Intensive counseling during the first semester that addresses personal, medical, academic, and financial problems. # Offer in the first semester courses that stimulate, support and encourage students to continue their education. # Develop cognitive skill levels that gradually, challenges and stimulates a student's critical thinking and judgment. # Increase the student's technical competency, in the second and third semesters thereby increasing their chances for employment. # Prepare students during their internship semester for the transition to work and/or continuing education.
