General Information About HRDE-Stanley Technical Institute-Parkersburg The goal of Human Resource & Development, Inc. (HRDE) is to provide educational and skill development programs that will effectively improve the employablility of those who attend Stanley Technical Institute. Our objective is to select students who will benefit from vocational guidance and training. Applicants who meet these requirements and have the opportunity for participation in training must also be given the proper support to achieve training. It is necessary to provide learning experiences that explore objectives relating to each student's career goal. Training objectives must be based upon the understanding that, while the effectiveness of learning varies with learning ability, it is also affected by the approach a student takes to the learning activity. These learning activities should combine reading, observation, and self-directed or group participation in hands-on-application. Occupational training is administered on an open-ended, open-exit training schedule. When open-ended, open-exit schedules are not possible, traditional fixed start and end date programs will be scheduled. Assigning tasks and asserting adherence to school regulations are needed to assure that achievement is obtained in the area of training. Appraising an individual's progress by reviewing the needs of the individual while in training will assure successful completion by perfection, achievement of performance standards, and overall feedback. Students will be able to more effectively reach their goal of obtaining career skills and to become competitive in the job market and in their resulting careers. HRDE's commitment to community service has improved the quality of life for many West Virginians.
