Medical Coding Associates analyze medical records and assign codes for the payment and reimbursement of health care claims. Accurate coding is critical to a healthcare facility's income. Nationally, the demand for qualified coders has never been greater. OIC Training Academy's 12 month Medical Coding Associate program is designed to prepare individuals as medical diagnosis and procedure coding specialists. Upon completion of the program, students can receive national certification and become a CCA, Certified Coding Associate through the CCA examination administered by the AHIMA, American Health Information Management Association. Employment opportunities in this growing health care industry include doctor's offices, medical clinics, nursing homes, nursing services, insurance companies, hospitals and governmental agencies associated with health care reimbursement.
